- Excellent weather backdrop a successful swimming carnival for students on Wednesday
- Year 7 students undertake swim test to enable participation in camp and other water-based activities.
- Year 12 enjoyed a tradition of a carnival to celebrate and enjoy their last swimming carnival
The sunshine and warmth on Wednesday provided perfect weather for our annual Swimming Carnival on Wednesday. It was a fun-filled day that saw excellent participation rates across all year groups and a strong presence from our excited Year 12 students, creating a buzz of energy throughout the day.
The day started with Year 7’s swim test, a compulsory activity that enables our Year 7 students to undertake further water-based activities at camp this year. It was wonderful to see so many brave Year 7 students taking to the pool to complete their 50 m swim in front of a supporting student body.
Year 12 continued the tradition of celebrating their final Swimming Carnival, dressing up to this year’s “Childhood Characters” theme. This saw a wide range of happy characters both in and out of the pool, from Wiggles and Fairy’s to Bindi Erwin’s and Pirates, with all of Year 12 jumping in with their costumes and assortment of floating rafts to participate in their final race.
The novelty events were again a hit, at times seeing the pool completely full of students battling each other in some face paced games. The participation rates in the race events were also impressive this year, with many students encouraging each other just to give it a go. That team spirit and sportsmanship is something that makes us very proud.
Congratulations to all of our students and staff on another successful Swimming Carnival!
