Key Points
- The prefects have launched an initiative where unused devices at home (laptops, tablets and smart phones) can be repurposed for students in need.
- The Technology Device Drive is accepting unused devices with a student technology team helping to re-install and refurbish as much as possible ready for a new life to support student learning.
A wonderful initiative led by the School Captains and prefects looks to put unused devices that lay around in cupboards and drawers at home, into the hands of those students who are unable to afford them. Devices such as old iPhones, tablet and iPads or old laptops can be refreshed here at school back to factory settings, cosmetically changed a little and ready to be confidentially assigned to students who would benefit.
This is a great cause and on the back of this lockdown, one in which our student body and staff are seeing as so relevant and worthwhile to support within our own school community.
Please support their initiative and consider donating an unused device to be re-purposed for students at our school.
All devices are being tagged with information about the person who donated them and details about the device. If there are cords missing, we can look to replace. The school will contact families of students who donate to thank and confirm the donation. The prefects are looking into the acknowledgements that those donating should receive. More information will come.
