Year 7 Camp

Key Points

  • After being postponed due to restrictions earlier in the year, Year 7 were finally able to enjoy two days at camp this week.
  • Organised as part of their transition to high school, our student’s were able to participate in a range of activities, supporting each other to push themselves out of their comfort zones and forming a stronger connection as a whole year group.

Year 7 beat the wet weather this week to enjoy a fantastic two days away at their long awaited camp. Originally organised as part of their transition to high school, the camp was postponed in February due to the COVID-19 restrictions. With restrictions easing this term, we took the opportunity for Year 7 to participate with almost the entire year group of very excited student’s eagerly attending.

Held at the Nepean Adventure Centre in Douglas Park, the camp offered our student’s two days of fun filled activities that allowed them to push themselves out of their comfort zones and try something new. Our students participated in high ropes courses, raced each other on a giant flying fox, screamed with each other as they braved the giant gorge swing and learnt skills and technique through archery.

It was wonderful to see our student’s encouraging and supporting each other to participate in everything they could dare. For Year 7, it was an exciting and enjoyable way to begin their last term of a challenging year before they head into their first lot of formal Semester 2 examinations later this term.

Congratulations to all of our attending Year 7 student’s for your eagerness, active participation and respectfulness to each other and to your instructors who spoke so highly of you all. Thank you also to the Year 7 Year Adviser’s, Ms Foreshew and Mr Vamvakaris for their organisation of an exciting two days away for their year group.
