We were very fortunate with the timing of our Athletics Carnival as we escaped the rain and could fully enjoy the day’s events and activities on offer. The rate of involvement from students was impressively high for all ages in both the field and track events. With a full program of events and high participation across all age groups,  the day was abuzz with activity, energy, encouragement, happy faces and school spirit in abundance.

COVID restrictions prevented us from running this important school event last year, so it was very exciting for everyone that we were able to do so this year. The Athletics track at the Ridge allowed all track and field competitors to do their best at top grade facilities. The tabloid format saw all age groups move through each of the individual field and track events efficiently throughout the day, with the emphasis being on everyone being actively involved. More importantly, keeping each age group together allowed peers to work together, bond and encourage each other.

The stars of the day were undoubtedly Year 12, who did a truly amazing job organising and selling snacks, drinks and a BBQ lunch for the hungry hordes.  Their excitement was most infectious and their baking, cooking and selling prowess was well appreciated by students and staff alike. Thank you, Ms Le and Year 12 for making this possible.

Congratulations to our high achievers who will go on to represent our school at the Zone Athletics Carnival in June. We look forward to sharing and celebrating their success with our school community.

A huge thank you to Ms Lupton and the PDHPE faculty for their faultless organisation of the day. Their efforts were well appreciated by all and had the day run smoothly.
