  • This hands-on part of the course provides students with the opportunity to gain quality industry experience and meet highly regarded professionals in the industry and for some, even secure further work.
  • Thank you to our continued community partners The Ferros Group, Jensens, St George Motorboat Club, Postbox cafe, Caringbah Bistro and Bistro 32 for yet again providing our students with high quality work placement opportunities.

This Term our senior Hospitality students have been busy successfully completing their mandatory work placement hours for their Kitchen Operations course. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in industry experience, apply their skills and knowledge from their studies, meet professionals in the industry and further their career pathways.

We are very fortunate at Gymea Technology High School to have developed community partnerships with a number of high-quality establishments throughout our local area. Our community partners such as The Ferros Group, Jensens, St George Motorboat Club, Postbox cafe, Caringbah Bistro and Bistro 32 continue to provide our students with exciting and quality work placement opportunities through their businesses. Thank you to each of our continued youth partnership providers who are ensuring our students are always supported with work readiness programs and quality work placement opportunities.

The positive feedback we continue to receive from our host employers about our students is a testament to how respectful and hard-working they all are, and this year’s Year 11 and 12 Hospitality students continued to make us proud. Our students conducted themselves in a professional manner at all times receiving glowing praise from all employers. In particular, Holly of Year 11 was offered a job at Jensens restaurant by Carl Jensen himself and Logan of Year 11 was also offered a job at The Postbox cafe at Yowie Bay. We are very proud of all our Hospitality students and look forward to their continued success!
