- Our excited Year 7 students embarked on our annual Science excursion to Taronga Zoo on Thursday 22 April.
- Each year, this excursion complements their learning in Science, linking to their first assessment on classification.
- Students were eager to study the animals at the zoo and engaged in a lesson on classification, led by the zoo keepers.
The introduction to Science at high school is always an exciting time for our new Year 7 students. Not only do they get to participate in interesting experiments linked to their learning, but their first assessment task involves a visit to Taronga Zoo!
As part of their study on classification, Year 7 head off on their day trip to Taronga Zoo on 22 April. The trip involves visiting the exhibits to capture photos, information and data for use in their classification assessment task, as well as to participate in a lesson on classification led by the zoo keepers. Our excited students thoroughly enjoyed their day learning about the different features and characteristics of the vast range of animals from across the world that call Taronga Zoo home.
