ANZAC Hedge

Year 7 Gymea Technology High School students have each participated on planting 100 Rosemary plants (Rosmarinus officianlis ’Gallipoli Rosemary’) along the front of the school from the front gate through to the prominent school sign along the Princes Highway as a living memorial to commemorate the centenary of ANZAC.

Rosemary was found along the hillsides on the Gallipoli Peninsular and now sprigs of Rosemary are traditionally  worn at ANZAC day. The Rosemary hedge planted in this centenary year of ANZAC will grow to be a hardy hedge that will flower and remain as an observable memory to this year’s commemoration.
